Restaurang Sjöboden in Kållandsö

Restaurang Sjöboden sits at the tip of a headland called Kållandsö that juts into Lake Vänern, Sweden's biggest lake and also one of Europe's largest. And from where the restaurant sources its fishy delights.

Spikens Fiskehamn (fishing harbour) is where you'll find Restaurang Sjöboden. It's nearest neighbour is the stunning and medieval Läckö Castle.

This restaurant was one of the first to receive Taste of West Sweden accreditation for its high-quality food, service and interiors. And for its focus on local produce. A bit of bragging now – Restaurang Sjöboden has been included in the list of Sweden's best 150 restaurant in the White Guide, Sweden's leading restaurant guide and, in 2011 became part of Sveriges Bästa Bord, 'Sweden's Best Restaurants'. And it has received awards for its wines.

So what's stopping you? Head out to this headland harbour restaurant for the best that Lake Vänern has to offer.

Sjöboden opened a new restaurant in the town of Lidköping in 2008. It is called PIRUM Restaurang & Vinbar and you'll find it at the Edward Hotel on Skaragatan 7 in the middle of town. Like its sister restaurant the focus is on lovingly prepared local produce. It also has wine bar that serves over one hundred wines by the glass.
